Faces of AAO: Ellie Brimeyer

This month, let's get back in touch with one of our most recent alumnae, Ellie Brimeyer! Ellie was an Aquatennial Princess in 2018, thus her volunteer role is just beginning!

Which community/festival did you represent?

Maple Grove

What is one of your favorite memories of being an Aquatennial Ambassador?

So many amazing memories come to mind, but one of my favorite memories was the day before coronation. Our whole Aqua family spent the afternoon on Lake Minnetonka together. We were able to boat around the lake, soaking up the great weather, beautiful views, and reminisce about our amazing year together as a team. After a busy Aquatennial week, it was so nice to be able to spend quality time together reflecting on some of our favorite memories.

Why do you continue to volunteer or give to the AAO?

The AAO is an organization that has helped me grow immensely and has given me invaluable experiences that I will remember for the rest of my life. The skills I have learned through my experience as a candidate and Ambassador have helped me to become a better leader and more active member in our community. I want to make sure that I give back to a program that has given me so much, so we can continue to inspire and empower young women for years to come.

What are your hopes for the AAO/Aquatennial?

I hope that the AAO can continue to expand our reach into more communities and organizations to become even stronger. Aquatennial is an amazing time of celebrating our beautiful city, volunteers, leaders and community. I look forward to even more people joining in on our celebration and mission to empower young women!

Ellie just returned from a semester abroad studying International Business in Florence, Italy! She will be a Sales Intern at Cargill this summer, and will return to the University of Northern Iowa to complete her senior year studying Sales Management and International Business. In Ellie's free time, she is involved in many clubs and organizations, and also enjoys spending time at the lake, traveling, trying DIY projects, and practicing yoga.
