The AAO is excited to be participating in WCCO-TV’s Pulling Together event for Team Minneapolis! AAO team members will be going up against their friends across the river, the St. Paul Winter Carnival - it will be an epic tug-of-war across the Mississippi.
To participate, the AAO needs to raise $5,000, and all proceeds will benefit Fraser. Fraser is a Minnesota-based non-profit committed to helping children and adults with special needs through comprehensive education, healthcare, and housing services.
The AAO is also pleased to announce the team captains for the event, 2015 Queen of the Lakes, Laura Swartz and 2017 Queen of the Lakes, Carolyn Meyer. These two women are leading the AAO’s fundraising charge, while also building the team. Laura said of the opportunity, “The AAO has inspired me to give back to the state of Minnesota even after my year as a 2015 Aquatennial Ambassador. Fraser is an amazing organization that provides for Minnesota families with special needs. I absolutely love that our Twin Cities community is coming together to support such a great cause!”
Fundraising efforts will occur online, through Facebook, Instagram, and the AAO website.
This is the second year for WCCO-TV’s Pulling Together program, and the AAO is excited to be an early supporter of this initiative. To donate to team AAO, please go to this secure link. If you’re interested in serving on the team, please contact Laura Swartz at lauraswartz16 -at- gmail-dot-com.
