Minneapolis, MN - The Minneapolis Aquatennial Ambassador Organization (AAO) held the Aquatennial Ambassador Coronation presented by SPIRE Credit Union at Ted Mann Concert Hall where the 2018 Queen of the Lakes and Aquatennial Princesses were announced on Saturday.
Queen of the Lakes Vanessa Gonzalez
Vanessa is from the community of Northfield and is currently pursuing a double major in Spanish and Elementary Education at the University of Northwestern. Upon graduation she looks forward to starting her career in teaching where she aspires to educate and inspire her future students. In addition to working as a Resident Assistant and being a member of the women’s golf team at the University of Northwestern, Vanessa enjoys tutoring and volunteering in local classrooms.
Aquatennial Princess ReAnn Eidahl
From the community of Farmington, ReAnn currently attends Gustavus Adolphus College where she is pursuing a double major in Communication Studies and Business Management. Upon graduation, ReAnn looks forward to traveling - allowing her the opportunity to explore different cultures. When she returns from her travels she hopes to work in the cosmetic industry, working her way to a Business Development Manager position. ReAnn currently works as an admissions tour guide at Gustavus Adolphus College and also participates in the St. Lucia women’s chorus.
Aquatennial Princess Ellie Brimeyer
Ellie is from the community of Maple Grove and currently attends the University of Northern Iowa where she is a Business Management major. Upon graduation, Ellie hopes to leverage her entrepreneurial spirit by working in a sales position that allows her to further refine her leadership skills. She is involved in Pi Sigma Epsilon, a sales and marketing organization, where she holds a position on the executive board. Ellie also participates in her on campus ministry, theRiver, and works as a Marketing Intern.

Escorting and mentoring each of these ladies will be Commodore Bill McReavy and Captains Kenny Devine and Quentin Moore who were revealed at the Commodore's Dinner on Thursday. Learn More >
About the AAO
53 women from across Minnesota participated in the Aquatennial Candidate Program where they participate in leadership, personal development, and other unique experiences while going through a rigorous selection process to become the Queen of the Lakes and Aquatennial Princesses.
The candidates are judged on a variety of criterion including their poise, professionalism, public speaking ability, current and future goals, education and co-curricular/extracurricular activities.
The Aquatennial Ambassadors will travel throughout North America representing the City of Minneapolis and the Aquatennial Festival. At the end of their year of service, each ambassador receives an educational scholarship in recognition of her service.
