Photos of the 53 candidates were captured by the Andrew Sonnek of AFSonnek Photography, Partner and Official Photographer of the AAO. Sonnek lives in Minneapolis and started as a landscape and cityscape photographer, "showing off every day places’ understated beauty," states Andrew on his website. Also capturing our Ambassador Crew's official photos, Andrew will be joining them throughout the week of Aquatennial.
The ambassador candidates will represent their communities during the Minneapolis Aquatennial festival while participating in a candidate program designed to provide personal and professional development opportunities, as well as many once-in-a-lifetime Aquatennial experiences. Candidates will be judged on a variety of elements including poise, professionalism public speaking ability, and current and future goals.
At the conclusion of the candidate program, three of the candidates will be selected to represent the Minneapolis Aquatennial for one year at appearances throughout North America as the Queen of the Lakes and Aquatennial Princesses.
