The Minneapolis Aquatennial Ambassador Organization held its inaugural Women's Expo at the University of St. Thomas Opus College of Business in Minneapolis on Saturday.
Led by Aquatennial Captains, Sarah Schrader and Jim Ganger, the focus of the event was enhancing one's community involvement with tools for professional success. Participants were current and former ambassadors, ages 18 to 24, from communities and festivals across Minnesota. The event was the first in a series the AAO plans to host that focus on providing networking and professional development opportunities for young women.
Approximately 60 participants learned how to create a brand for yourself, prepare for an interview, and how money works and how to manage it during four sessions presented by speakers with experience in both community service and business.
The event ended with a silent auction benefiting the Aquatennial Ambassador Scholarship Fund and a social reception with various ambassador alumni, ambassador program coordinators and community leaders.
The AAO would like to thank our presenters and the organizations they represented: Sarah Schrader, Aquatennial Ambassador Organization Jim Ganger, SPIRE Credit Union Skip Nelson, Thrivent Financial Camryn Nelson, Brave Like Me
A special thank you to the University of St. Thomas Minneapolis Campus staff and the Women's Expo principal sponsor, SPIRE Credit Union.
